About the GOOD DESIGN

The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, set up the historic GOOD DESIGN programme in Chicago in 1950, with the collaboration of important international designers such as Eero Saarinen and Charles and Ray Eames, among others.
Now in its 61st edition, the GOOD DESIGN programme is the oldest and most auspicious programme for excellence in design at the global level. In 2011, the Museum received thousands of applications from more than 48 countries. Applicants included major manufacturers and world-famous industrial and graphic design studios, whose work is highly representative of the most select industrial design, which includes the entire gamut from small kitchen appliances to NASA spacecraft.
